The State government has decided to purchase the entire paddy produced during the Rabi season in the State.
The cabinet meeting was held today chaired by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao at the Pragathi Bhavan here.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao said the State government would set up paddy purchasing centres at every village across the State and would purchase every grain of the paddy. The Chief Minister said the State government would purchase paddy at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Rs 1,960 per quintal and appealed to the farmers not to sold their produce at lowest price.

“The preparation in this regard will start from Wednesday. All the ministers will coordinate with their respective district administration and will start the purchase of paddy in the next couple days. The Civil Supplies department will supply gunny bags and other materials required for the procurement to all the districts”, KCR revealed.
The Chief Minister said as Prime Minister Narendra Modi governrnent was not in a position to favour the farming community, the State government has decided to purchase the entire paddy from the farmers.
