Hyderabad : TDP Rajya Sabha member C M Ramesh today lashed out at the Central government. He also alleged that IT raids were conducted at his residence just because he questioned the government in Parliament. Speaking to the media at NTR trust bhavan here today, Ramesh said IT officials came with a wrong search warrant against his wife’s name who was not a director in Rithvik Agri farms. When asked, the IT officials failed to give a reply.
Ramesh said he will legally question the IT department to explain the reasons and information on what basis they have conducted raids. IT personnel conducted raids in one of my offices which was closed 10 years ago. “I and my relatives have been filing IT returns regularly and the IT officials found only Rs 3.50 lakh cash during the raids, he explained.
Refuting allegations that his company got favours from the AP government, the TDP MP accused the Central government of resorting to IT raids for questioning in Parliament and talking against it. “But we are not afraid of this kind of tactics and continue to question the Centre”, he said.
It may be mentioned here that IT personnel conducted raids on the firms owned by C M Ramesh and residences, including his relatives in various places for three days. IT officials also raided the posh residence of Ramesh at Jubilee Hills till midnight yesterday.(NSS)
