Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will soon inaugurate a Horticulture University in Mulugu, Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy today said.
The minister held a review meeting with officials on the new university for Horticulture. Telangana lands are favorable for horticulture and the farmers should shift focus to it, he said. The Horticulture University was ready with all facilities and will push for production of related crops, he added.
“It is time for the farmers to shift from paddy to horticulture and other crops to make benefits.
With better rainfall and lakes revival, the State was now set to push for horticultural crops”, he said. The government will extend support to farmers to cultivate horticultural crops, Niranjan Reddy added. (NSS)
