Hyderabad, Oct.26 (NSS): GHMC Commissioner Dana Kishore today said it is the moral responsibility of the Deputy Commissioner and AMOH to look after the sanitation issues to regularly transport the accumulated garbage on the main roads bylanes and so on, which has to be shifted to the transfer station everyday and there was every need that both the DMC and AMOH personally monitor the issues related to garbage and other civic problems on priority.
The Commissioner along with the senior officials of the various wings of the GHMC visited Kukatpally in the early hours and inspected the ongoing works with regard to road widening, recarpeting of the roads and other ongoing works there. He had an interaction with Zonal Commissioner Shankaraiah, DMCs, AMOHs where SFAs also participated in the meeting.
The Commissioner said the GHMC has to maintain the Sanitation to that of International Standards to make the City to that of a global one and more importance has to be given for clearing garbage and other waste material from the roads with utmost care. He said the GHMC was having an extent of 628 sq.km where 948 Sanitary Field Assistants and 18,000 and above Sanitation workers were working for lifting of garbage in the entire GHMC jurisdiction. The GHMC was lifting around 4500 metric tons of garbage every day and the entire Sanitation wing must see that there should not be any type of garbage waste on the roads. The Commissioner directed the Sanitation wing that everyday at least 2 to 3 shifts have to be taken for clearing the entire garbage in the GHMC jurisdiction.
The Commissioner observed poor sanitation work at Moosapet area and immediately suspended Dr Sampath, AMOH. The garbage was accumulated from Moosapet, Hyderabad Metro Rail Station and other areas where a lot of garbage has been accumulated for which he suspended the AMOH for his negligence. (NSS)
