Commissioner of Police review poll arrangements

Hyderabad, Nov.6 (NSS): Anjani Kumar, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, M. Dana Kishore, DEO & Commissioner, GHMC and  have conducted a review meeting with ROs/ACPs/DCPs, Nodal Officers for Model Code of conduct, Excise Department officials, MCMC Committee Members with regard to polling arrangements where every care is being taken for smooth conduct of elections and almost all the arrangements are being made and are in process.

With regard to 15 Assembly Constituencies’ counting centre, strong rooms arrangements are being taken up as per the directions of the CEO and discussions were also being held with regard to security, police initiatives etc., and proper coordination among ROs and ACPs, points have been discussed, security planning, critical polling stations.

Around 27,000 staff was needed for polling purpose and orders are being served for deploying to election work on November 14 and 15 and first training program will be conducted for PO, APOs basing on the need staff wll be deplpoyed further said the DEO, Postal Ballot need etc., also is being taken care SVEEP activities are also been taken on war footing basis to increase the polling percentage, pamphlets are being planned to distribute to all the school students to create awareness about the polling involving the parents to act accordingly. NGOs, RWAs, SHGs etc., have also been involved for the said purpose. A meeting will be conducted on 8th to have a proper interaction with them.

The DEO said that 1st Randomanisation will be taken up on 12th and 13th of this month at Victory Play Ground where the EVMs and VVPATs have already been provided which will be sent to the concerned ROs with all police security arrangements. Nominations will start from 12th of November for which training to all the ROs have already been given how to perform their duties while taking up the nominations. How to prepare a marked copy have also been discussed, Form No.6 applications received till 9th of this month will be included in the electoral rolls. All the officers of various Government Heads are coordinating very well and all the election process works is being done in a systematic manner and so far Rs. 9 crores have been seized by the flying squad teams the DEO added.

Anjani Kumar, Commissioner of Police, Hyd., said that for every Assembly Constituency one Assistant Commissioner of Police will over all be incharge even DCPs, Addl. CPs (Law & Order) will all work together said the CP. All the distribution, receiption counters have been inspected where to take up the barricading etc., were also discussed, 3 companies of Para Military Forces have been deployed in another 10 days still 25 companies are likely to join for the election work.

The accommodation is being planned as per the Ministry of Home Affairs guidelines so far 8.6 crores have been seized non bailable warrants have also been taken up for 1800 execution has been done. The CP said that this time more and more people will participating in the voting and the entire police force is ready for the ensuing elections. The CP further stated that as per the Supreme Court guidelines with regard to Diwali the citizens may celebrate in between 8 to 10PM for two hours. (NSS)
