Congress, HHF second health camp held at Golconda

Hyderabad : Hundreds of poor patients thronged the free health camp at Mirza Palace Function Hall in Golconda on Saturday. The free health camp was organized by Hyderabad City Congress Committee (HCCC) Minorities Department Chairman Sameer Waliullah and TPCC Spokesperson Syed Nizamuddin, in association with Healthier Hearts Foundation.

TPCC working president Ponnam Prabhakar, Congress MLA from Sangareddy Jagga Reddy, TPCC Minorities Department Chairman Shaik Abdullah Sohail and other senior leaders visited the health camp. They interacted with the locals regarding the problems being faced by them and took feedback on what should be done to resolve them.

Speaking to mediapersons, Jagga Reddy appreciated the initiative taken by Sameer Waliullah and Syed Nizamuddin. He said the health camp would benefit hundreds of poor people, who could not afford to pay for several medical tests. The patients were provided prescribed medicines at free of cost that would reduce the burden on them.

Appreciating the initiative, Congress working president Ponnam Prabhakar suggested that similar health camps should be held across the State. Accusing the State government of being negligent towards deteriorating public health,  Ponnam said the huge turnout at free health camps clearly showed that poor people living in slums have no access to basic medical needs. He said the free health camp was a good attempt to help the needy people.

Sameer Waliullah said various medical tests, including ECG, 2D Echo, Blood Tests, Sugar GRBS, BP, etc., were conducted at the health camp and medicines were also provided at free of cost in both the camps. He said general physicians and specialists, including cardiologists, were available in the camp.

TPCC Spokesperson Syed Nizamuddin said another health camp will be organized in Rasoolpura on September 29. He appealed to the people living in specified areas to avail the opportunity by participating in the health camps.  (NSS)
