Congress Leaders Shashi Tharoor Test Positive for Covid 19; Ex-PM Manmohan Singh Hospitalized

Amidst the rising cases of Covid 19, Congress leaders Shashi Tharoor and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury have also tested positive for the pandemic virus.

Congress Leaders Announce Covid Positive on Twitter

As per the latest reports, Shashi Tharoor took to Twitter to announce that he has tested positive for Covid 19. In the tweet he said that he waited for two days for a test appointment. And then for another one and a half days to get the results of his test.

Further adding that he has tested Covid positive along with his sister and his 85 years old mother. However, he said that he is hopeful to deal with the pandemic virus in a “positive frame of mind” with rest, fluids and steam.

At the same time, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Bengal Congress Chief and Leader of the party in the Lok Sabha also took to Twitter to announce the same.

He said that he has tested positive for Covid 19. He also requested everyone who have come in contact with him in the past seven days to comply with the Covid protocols. However, he has decided to continue his campaign via virtual platform. Chowdhury suggested and requested everyone to keep Covid out of their lives and take utmost care.

This comes after Rahul Gandhi recently announced that he has tested positive for Covid 19 and is currently under home minister.

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Admitted In AIIMS

Reports suggest that the former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh recently contacted Covid 19 despite getting vaccinated with the first dose of Covid 19 vaccine. The 88 years old economist complained of fever on Sunday and tested positive for Covid 19 the next day.

The Health Minister Harsh Vardhan spoke about his recovery. He said that his condition is stable and he is being provided the facilities possible.

Before being hospitalised, Singh had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi suggesting changes about the vaccination programme. In the letter, he suggested to prioritise frontline workers under the age of 45 to be vaccinated against Covid 19.
