Congress sets Oct 19 deadline for CM to resolve RTC issue

Hyderabad: The Congress party has set October 19 as the deadline for Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao to resolve the RTC strike issue. Else, the Congress leaders warned that they would lay siege to CM’s official residence Pragathi Bhavan on October 21.

This was announced at a joint press conference at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday by TPCC Working President & MP A. Revanth Reddy, Former minister and ex-Leader of Opposition in Telangana Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir, ex-Deputy CM Damodar Rajanarasimha and other leaders.

Revanth Reddy alleged that the state government was not taking any steps to end the ongoing indefinite strike of TSRTC even after the launch of the agitation 11 days back. He said that the employees were forced to go on strike as the honorary president of TMU and state minister T. Harish Rao did not respond to their problems. He alleged that CM

KCR who promised to remove the nail-pierced into the feet of the Employees, with his mouth, was now hitting them with a heavy iron rod. He also alleged that the CM was trying to dilute the ongoing strike by using his power. Stating that a veterinarian was booked for the death of a dog that lived at Pragathi Bhavan, he demanded the state government to bookcases against state cabinet ministers  Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Puvvada Ajay Kumar and Talasani Srinivas Yadav for causing the death of the RTC workers. He urged the workers to not commit suicides and added that the congress would stand by them. He wondered why cabinet ministers like T Harish Rao, Etela Rajender who have played a crucial role in separate Telangana state agitation,  turned silent on the issue. He alleged that the party Secretary General K Keshava Rao was also not able to get an appointment with the CM.

Shabbir Ali alleged that the state cabinet ministers, who spoke against the strike were all traitors. He asked the TRS leader  Keshav Rao on whose directions he issued a statement urging the employees to withdraw their strike.

Former minister Damodar Raja Narasimha alleged that the state was witnessing a dictatorial rule which was not there in the other 28 states of the country. He urged the intervention of the center to end the ongoing strike.
