Hyderabad: Congress party senior leaderand former Deputy Chief Minister Damodara Rajanarsimha has expressed the view today that the Congress party should change it’s line of thinking.
Speaking at the party’s meeting held at Gandhi Bhavan here for a review on the drubbing received by it in the Assembly elections held last month, the senior leader said that there was total change in the thinking of the voters, and it was incumbent on the party to change it’s line of thinking to suit the changed attitude of the people.
He said that there are three, four reasons for the Congress party’s defeat in the elections. He said that apart from TRS Government’s misuse of power, there are also several suspicions on the attitude of the Election Commission . Money and liquor played a major role in the elections and the decisions of Election Commission were also in favour of the TRS. Congress party has also failed to effectively educate the voters on the TRS Government’s failures. The party has also failed to fight on the peoples’ problems.
Narasimha felt that there was no relationship between Development and Votes; and what was done during the 20 days prior to the election day matters much. (NSS)
