Hyderabad: A Police Constable working in the city allegedly murdered his step-mother over a property dispute at Madannapet on Tuesday morning.
According to the police, constable K Srikanth went to the house of his step-mother K Sukanya at Boya Basthi in Madannapet around 7.15 am. He allegedly sprinkled chilli power on the faces of the victim’s two children and slit her throat with a sharp edged weapon that he carried, even as the family members and tenants watched the crime in horror. Srikanth fled the place after attacking Sukanya.
On receipt of the information, the Madannapet police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Osmania General Hospital for post-mortem. A police team launched a man hunt for the constable. (NSS)
