Despite a surge in cases of Corona in the country, there is a reason to smile as the cases of recoveries too are increasing significantly and in some areas, the improvement is more appreciating.
In recent days, the increasing rate of recoveries was witnessed during the days with soaring temperature but that has plummeted soon after rains started lashing the earth. This has raised the question that ‘whether high temperature or seasonal rains is something to do with the tenacity of the contagion?
The number of cases, which were started boiling down before monsoon, was seen stoking up again after rains in recent days due to climatic change. Especially in districts, which were until now has been considered safe were start witnessing a significant increase in Corona cases after the rivers, streams, and ponds were start brimming following copious rains off late.
It is not out of place to mention here that, most of the casualties in Brazil, the second-largest country that hit with coronavirus pandemic, come from areas alongside Amazon River. It never came in the wildest dream of the people, living alongside the waterway, that the river their fathers and forefathers loved would also be brought them the virus home.
When the coronavirus arrived in America, there was widespread fear that it would take a devastating toll on Indigenous communities across the region. In many places along the Amazon River, those fears appear to be coming true.
It is said that at least 570 Indigenous people in Brazil have died of the disease since March, according to an association that represents the country’s Indigenous people. The vast majority of those deaths were in places connected to the river.
More than 18,000 Indigenous people have been infected. Community leaders have reported entire villages confined to their hammocks, struggling to rise even to feed their children.
If the reports from Amazon River are something relevant to the present situation created here in Telangana then it is imperative to focus more on districts was the waster bodies are overflowing after the recent rains.
In the meantime, the reports said the city areas especially the Hyderabad recovers fast from the effects of contagion as people start thinking about their routine life post lockdown while the children are gearing up again for schools after the center gives it nod for online classes from 1st September.
Moreover, the number of recoveries being reported these days is an official figure being recorded from people who were either treated in hospitals or are recovered in their own houses through home isolation. The number of recoveries being reported from unofficial sources is many times more than the figure revealed officially as people, after getting affected with COVID-19 like symptoms, are getting recovered without taking much care and medicines in their houses.
“Have we stick to old enjoined of our elders about the precautions to be taken after every monsoon sets, we wouldn’t have to live through the trials and tribulations we are presently experiencing due to coronavirus pandemic,” Said Syed Shoukat, a city-based social activist.
With the fastest rate of recovery being recorded among Covid-19 patients in hospitals and at home isolation, and in some case without proper medication, the people in the city are susceptible saying whether to call corona a “Chinese Virus” or “Chinese Whisper” which have symptoms similar to flu or fever one may experience with seasonal changes every year.
