Hyderabad: Anjani Kumar IPS, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad city today appreciated and rewarded the I.Os, Court duty officers and prosecuting officers, who have done good work in getting convictions in major cases in their respective zones of the City for the months of May and June 2019, at his office. A of Total 46 cases secured convictions of 1 year and above due to the efforts of the officials of the department.
One of the important cases involved S. Venkat Reddy, the Inspector of Police of Jubilee Hills PS as IO of a rape on minor of unsound mind case. The SHO and the Addl. PP of the 1st AMSJ Court K. Pratap Reddy and others played a key role in the getting life conviction to the accused by name Chekuri Vishnu Murthy Raju. The rape took place in August, 2015. The victim girl was speech and hearing impaired and so her evidence was recorded with the help of sign language interpreter in the case. In another attempt murder case registered by Afzalgunj police , the police and other officials succeeded in getting 5 year conviction to the accused.
