CPI(M) Alleges Political Interference by Hyderabad Police Inspector

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) has expressed grave concern and asked that the Humayun Nagar police inspector in Hyderabad be prosecuted. M Srinivas, city secretary of the CPI(M), spoke at a press conference, criticizing the inspector for allegedly taking on a political role and functioning as a party worker. The CPI(M) accused the inspector of carrying out directions from AIMIM leaders and targeting CPI(M) leader Arshad Ahmed.

According to M Srinivas, the police inspector threatened Arshad Ahmed, a prominent CPI(M) leader representing Owaisipura, with filing a disorderly sheet. Arshad Ahmed has been actively involved in resolving basic concerns confronting local residents and representing many departments in order to find solutions for the inhabitants of the Ahmednagar division. However, the activities of the police inspector appear to be influenced by AIMIM leaders under the guise of illicit structures.

M Srinivas stated that the alleged harassment of Arshad Ahmed is the outcome of concerns over the CPI(M)’s growing popularity in the Ahmednagar division. He criticised the police’s disproportionate actions against party workers and leaders, declaring that such behavior will not be condoned.

Arshad Ahmed, according to the CPI(M) leader, has been subjected to persistent harassment since the opening of the party office in Ahmednagar division. Despite having previously raised the problem with the Humayun Nagar Inspector, the inspector is said to have initiated unwarranted steps against Arshad Ahmed. Complaints were also filed with the ACP and DCP, but so far no action has been taken.

M Srinivas requested the authorities to investigate the Humayun Nagar inspector’s actions as soon as possible and to take suitable action against him. Other CPI(M) members joined the press conference, demanding accountability and fair treatment for their party’s leader, Arshad Ahmed.
