Cybercriminals have successfully set up false identities on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter imitating DG ACB (Anti-Corruption Bureau) C V Anand. These fraudsters have been sending messages to contacts and uploading fake updates.
After identifying the phony accounts, ACB(Anti-Corruption Bureau)staff filed a complaint with the Hyderabad Cybercrime Police Station, resulting in the registration of a case and the launch of an investigation.
In a similar case, another bogus social media account imitating senior IPS officer Swathi Lakra was discovered. A complaint has been filed to identify the individuals who created the bogus account.
These incidents underscore the growing problem of cyber fraud and impersonation, underlining the need for stronger cybersecurity measures and more public awareness to prevent such fraudulent acts.
