Dayakar Rao term sarpanch protest programmes as politically motivated

Hyderabad: The Panchayat Raj Minister of the state E Dayakar Rao today said that the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was determined for development of villages with green drive and all facilities.  He made these after participating  in Haritha Haram program held at Sanga Reddy. The minister also planted saplings as part of the program. Speaking on the occasion, he said that he would consider giving cheque power to village Sarpances and avoid the  joint power to deputy sarpanch and village secretary.  He said that the government was for providing adequate funds to village panchayats. The minister alleged that sarpanches were staging dharnas for politics and advised them to work for the village development.

He made it clear that the sapanches would have to play key role and avoid negligence on green drive and works of roads,  sanitation,  power supply  drinking water,  cemeteries and others in the villages. “If they failed to reach target serious action will be taken against them,”,  the minister warned.  Rao said that the KCR Government had doubled pensions to Asara beneficiaries from Rs 1000 to Rs 2016 and from Rs 1500 to Rs 3016 to normal and disabled he added. He said that CM KCR kept his promise of nine hours power to farm sector and started mission bhagiratha program giving purified waters to rural areas. (NSS)
