DEO, CP inspect EVM strong rooms at LB stadium

Hyderabad: M. Dana Kishore, DEO & Commissioner, GHMC, Anjani Kumar, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, along with ROs / DCPs/ ACPs/ Nodal Officers and senior officials concerned have inspected some of the Distribution, Reception and Counting Centers in 15 Assembly constituencies. Firstly, they visited and inspected the Nizam College, LB Stadium and so on including the Strong Rooms meant for storing EVMs, VVPATs, Security Arrangements.

The DEO said the ROs / DCPs/ ACPs have proposed an action plan for the above said purpose basing on the plan both the DEO and CP Hyderabad have visited some of the Distribution, Reception centres today in the evening session and this inspection will be continued tomorrow also the DEO added. The main aim of the inspections to verify whether the works are being taken up with regard to strong rooms, security arrangements etc., have been done as per the guidelines of the ECI and as well as whether the place is sufficient at the Distribution, Reception Centres for the polling persons movements while receiving the polling materials, food arrangements and various other related issues have been enquired and found satisfactorily said the DEO.

The DEO stated that for polling process there is a need of 27,000 polling persons where as already 23,500 have already been  arranged and remaining also being taken care duly coordinating with the concerned officials, instructions have also been given to ROs, ACPs to impart proper training to the polling persons for performing their duties with clear transparency.

The EVMs/ VVPATs which have been stored at the Victory Play Ground should be taken up for first Randomanisation later it will be transported to the concerned ROs at their respective DRC centres with full security arrangements providing CCTV Cameras along with CRPF involving the representatives of the Political Parties to have a clear knowledge about the situation.
The DEO said that Political Parties have been requested to depute on Polling Agent for each polling station who will jointly work with the allotted BLOs to have a proper coordination among themselves to achieve the assigned targets for which a special training programme is being conducted to them from November 2 to 5.

In the training programme, the officials will explain about the working of EVMs and VVPATs to have a clear transparency will also conduct mak poll and they will also explain about the critical polling stations they will be properly trained about the arrangements provided to the physically challenged about the basic minimum facilities to have a accessible elections and also to increase the polling percentage said the DEO.

Anjani Kumar, CP, Hyderabad said that to have a proper coordination among the Additional CPs, Law & Order, ROs, Local DCPs, Nodal ACPs, AEROs for which all necessary arrangements are being taken up in a systematic manner deputing CRPF for the purpose for fine tuning exercise, for every counting centre one local ACP will be kept overall in-charge to look after the entire process of the elections  and further stated that the Commissioner that he is well confident that the elections will be held in a peaceful atmosphere.
