DEO exhorts youth to exercise franchise

Hyderabad: M. Dana Kishore, DEO & Commissioner, GHMC said that youth and students must play a very vital role to increase the polling percentage for the ensuing elections. The DEO interacted with the students of Muffakamja College at Road No.1, Banjara Hills where he has participated as chief guest in an awareness program while interacting with the students the DEO said though 90% literacy was there in the City, but only 53% of polling has been observed in the last elections.

In Telangana State, voting was 71% but in the city limits it was only 53% in Hyderabad District for every 1,000 around 930 voters are there but only 650 are participating in the polling and there was every need to increase the polling percentage for the ensuing elections for which the DEO has appealed the students, who have completed 18 years of age as on January 1, 2018 to get enrolled in the voters list through online or contacting their concerned EROs, and by casting their votes they can choose the right government for overall development of the city voting is a very valuable one everyone must feel the responsibility to cast their vote to increase the polling percentage.
