DMK denies inviting Asaduddin owaisi for alliance meeting

Hyderabad: Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party on Friday has denied that they have invited All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM)president Asaduddin Owaisi for an alliance meeting on January 6 in Chennai. The DMK also added that the meeting will be only for the alliance parties.

Vakkil Ahmed AIMIM state president has confirmed information about the invitation a little before the denial.

DMK minority wing secretary DR Masthan has claimed that his visit to Hyderabad to invite Owaisi was false.

The meeting will be undertaken with the alliance party and will be chaired out by DMK chief Stalin.

The controversy flare-up when few reporters said that minority wing secretary DR Masthan has visited Hyderabad to invite AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi and reports also speculated the DMK will form an alliance with AIMIM for the upcoming Assembly elections.

AIMIM has been accused of splitting opposition votes in the Bihar election which leads to the defeat of RJD. However, statistics have proved that it was not the case. Even Muslims in Tamil Nadu have criticized AIMIM for the Bihar election and have accused him of splitting up the votes of the opposition parties. Some of the members also alleged that AIMIM is the B team of BJP.

AIMIM was wining many Muslim, voters, as they no longer prefer other mainstream parties AIMIM before has said that their party will be contesting in the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections and they are holding to take with alliance parties.

AIMIM state president Vakeel Ahmed has said that the party is currently surveying constituencies where they can win, he also said that AIMIM aims to contest in 25 to 30 seats in north Tamil Nadu where they have a stronghold. The DMK is in alliance with two parties the Indian union Muslim league and Manithaneya Makkal Katchi.
