Hyderabad: An APSRTC bus driver was killed in a road accident occurred at the Panthangi toll plaza near the Hyderabad-Vijayawada National Highway in Choutuppal mandal of the Yadadri district on Tuesday morning.
According to the information, the driver of super luxury bus belonging to the Vijayawada bus depot was speeding from Vijayawada to Hyderabad. In the process, the ill-fated bus rammed another vehicle near the Panthangi toll plaza killing bus driver Srinivasa Rao on the spot. Ten other passengers traveling in the bus also suffered grievous injuries. The locals alerted the police, who immediately rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to the Choutuppal area hospital. Srinivasa Rao belonged to Krishna district. The police took up investigation and examining CCTV footage at the Toll Plaza to identify the vehicle which caused the accident. (NSS)
