Hyderabad: Dubbing the TRS government as anti-farmers , Telangana TDP today demanded that the State government release water from Sri Ram Sagar (SRP) and help farmers.
In a pressnote here today, TTDP State president L Ramana demanded that the TRS government help the farmers immediately by releasing water besides withdrawing cases filed against agitating farmers. He said the farmers of 28 villages in Nizamabad district have been demanding release of only 0.5 tmc of water from SRSP to save their standing crops. Instead of helping them, the government took action against them by filing non-bailable cases against 14 farmers besides imposing prohibitory orders in those villages. He also demanded that the government withdraw security pickets deployed in the villages and release water immediately. (NSS)
