Amidst the ongoing COVID-19 situation in the country, the EFLU is probably the first to conduct the end-semester examinations online. At its headquarters in Hyderabad, 345 students pursuing various Undergraduate courses took the semester-end examinations and 338 passed. In the case of a student pursuing various Postgraduate courses, 476 wrote for the exams and 465 of them passed and out of 115 students pursuing Teacher Education courses i.e., B.Ed, Postgraduate Diploma in the Teaching of English, and Postgraduate Diploma in the Teaching of Arabic, 112 passed the end-semester examinations.

End-semester examinations at the Regional Campuses in Shillong and Lucknow were also conducted online in May-June and the results will be announced soon.

In addition to the online end-semester examinations, the University has conducted 29 Ph.D.online viva-voce examinations in the last 100 days, and many more are scheduled to be held.

The University was able to achieve these milestones under the dynamic leadership of Prof. E. Suresh Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, EFLU, whose decisive measures steered the University towards adopting technology optimally, saving the academic year, and careers of the students. Prof. Suresh complimented the teachers and students for their support in shifting from face-to-face teaching to online teaching and also in conducting the end-semester examinations successfully.

These farsighted and student-friendly measures drew the gratitude of the students as expressed in an email by the Student Council. Members of the Council profusely thanked the Vice-Chancellor, teacher-administrators, and all the teachers for their efforts in ensuring the safety and security and for saving the academic year for the students.

The Council said “From the bottom of our hearts we thank you for all that you have done this past year for us, the students. We understand that you have gone through a lot of trouble and hardship to make sure that we have a good education in the safety and security of our university. We realize that we would not have been able to complete the present year without your kind forbearance and cooperation. We are sincerely grateful for everything you have done. We are also aware that you have done so often at great personal cost to both yourself and your family and we are indebted to you for it”.

This gratitude and appreciation came in the wake of the EFLU being the first university in the country to conduct online examinations and to declare the results in a month’s time.
