Election Commission Conducts Training for Booth-Level Officials Ahead of Telangana Elections

To prepare for the impending elections, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has launched comprehensive training sessions for booth-level officials in Telangana. A training session for 34,891 booth-level officers from all districts in the state was recently held in Hyderabad.

Vikas Raj, the Chief Electoral Officer, emphasized the necessity of these officers in guaranteeing fair and transparent elections, highlighting the importance of adhering to Election Commission norms.

Booth-level officials are responsible for supervising all parts of the voting booth as well as contributing in the modification of the voters’ list. Recognizing the importance of their job, the Election Commission has scheduled a training session for assembly-level master trainers on July 18. Following that, district-specific training sessions will be held from July 19 to July 25 to provide officials with the essential skills and information.

Vikas Raj underlined the necessity of electoral commission personnel in conducting effective elections during the training session. He emphasized the need of booth-level officers in updating and amending the voter list. In the second round of voter list modification, these authorities will perform door-to-door assessments to identify and include eligible voters.

The training programs seek to provide booth-level officials with the knowledge and skills they need to carry out their duties efficiently. The Election Commission is committed to protecting the integrity of the Telangana electoral process by equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed for accurate voter identification and the efficient operation of polling stations.
