Election Commission talks to political parties on polls

Hyderabad: A team of Election Commission from Delhi today came to Hyderabad and held discussions with recognised political parties in a meeting at Secretariat here. CEO Rajath Kumar who returned from Delhi said that the EC team will hold discussions with the political parties on the proposed Assembly elections. The EC had invited two to three persons from each political party and discuss the issue from 6.30 pm till the completion of the talks on polls preparedness. The parties attended the meeting include TRS, Congress, BJP, TD, CPI, CPM, MIM, BSP and others. With this it is clear that the EC is for early polls and took the opinions of the political parties on the ensuing elections. On the other hand the EC is gearing up for the early polls probably in November last week by procuring EVMs and VV PATS and directing district collectors to prepare with personnel and security. (NSS)
