Election Commission team to visit Hyderabad to check electoral arrangements

Hyderabad: Election commission officers will visit Hyderabad on September 30 to review election arrangements in the state of Telangana. The Commission visited Hyderabad in the starting week of September and held review meetings to take a stock of the situation on the revision of electoral rolls.

During the current revision exercise, 5.80 lakh new voters have enrolled while another 8.75 lakh were deleted.

The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Telangana, Rajat Kumar stated “The revision of electoral process in the state has reached final stage and the last date for receiving claims and objections will be September 25.” The CEO advised voters to approach booth level officers for any claims and objections pertaining to the draft electoral rolls which were published on September 1. So far, the election authorities have received 23.87 lakh objections through door-to-door survey.

The election commission also interacted with representatives of political parties to take their opinions and suggestions in regards to ensure a free and fair election.
