Hyderabad: Former legislator from Gadwal Gattu Bheemudu this morning passed away in the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences. He was 67. He had represented Gadwal Assembly constituency in the erstwhile Mahabubnagar district and a close confidant of TDP founder and late chief minister N T Rama Rao. After TDP eclipse, Bheemudu was continuing in the ruling TRS party.
According to family sources, Gattu Bheemudu was suffering from various diseases like diabetes, hypertension and so on and was admitted to the NIMS some ten days ago. His mortal remains will be kept at his brother’s house in Old Housing Board Colony and his funeral will be held in his native village Baligera on Thursday at 10 am.
A number of political leaders have expressed their condolences at the demise of Gattu Bheemudu. Minister S Niranjan Reddy and MLAs from Palamuru region, who have been checking with the team of doctors about Bheemudu’s heath, have sent condolence messages . (NSS)
