Fake passport case: Hyderabad Gangster Ayub Khan convicted

Hyderabad: The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Nampally here convicted a notorious rowdy sheeter Ayub khan and his wife in a fake passport case.

The Court sentenced him and his wife to seven years imprisonment.

The court also sentenced two “Qazis” to two years in jail for helping the gangster. While pronouncing the Judgment, Magistrate Y Govind Reddy held Ayub Khan and his wife Hafeeza Begum guilty of obtaining fake passport to escape from the country.

Apart from the seven-year rigorous imprisonment awarded to Ayub and his wife, the court also imposed a fine of Rs 4,500 each. The two Qazis–Muqtadir Ali Quadri and his deputy Mohammed Nasseruddin were fined Rs 2,000 each.

Soon after the judgment, the convicted were taken into custody and shifted to Central prison at Chanchalguda.

All the accused were tried for offences under Section 420 (cheating), 468 (forgery, 471 (using as genuine a forged document, 109 (abetment), 120 (b) criminal conspiracy) read with 34 of the IPC, 1860 & section 12 (1) (a) (a) of Indian Passport Act, 1967, in the case that was registered in Kamatipura police station.

On December 27 last year, Ayub Khan was detained by the immigration authorities at Mumbai International airport soon after he arrived from Saudi Arabia. He was later handed over to the Hyderabad Police and during the interrogation he revealed that in 2010 he had obtained a fake passport on a Golconda address.
