FIR Filed, Another Mosque demolished in Telangana

In Telangana, another mosque has been demolished. According to reports, Vinoda Reddy of Alwal demolished a 400-year-old historic Waqf-listed Qutub Shahi mosque in Yakutpur village of Chintalapally Mandal, under the jurisdiction of Shamir Peth, on Sunday night.

Mir Ghulam Hassan Khan and his son Mohammed Shahnawaz sold the 9-acre land plot with the mosque and a few graves to Satyanarayan Reddy, who then sold it to Vinoda Reddy.

Mir Ghulam Hassan Khan had the mosque land listed under Waqf after selling it to Satyanarayan Reddy. Khan and his family members, along with the villagers, had been offering five-time prayers at the mosque on a regular basis until its demolition.

The controversy erupted three days ago when Vinoda Reddy announced her intention to demolish the mosque. The villagers – Hindus and Muslims – tried to talk her out of it. Despite their talk, she demolished the historic Qutub Shahi mosque.

The locals filed an FIR against Vinoda Reddy with the police, who have so far taken no action against her.

The accused will be prosecuted for her criminal act, according to Mohammed Saleem, Chairman of the Telangana Waqf Board. He stated that the mosque would be rebuilt in that location.
