Chennai: Five persons were killed and seven others injured in the blast that occurred in a firecracker unit in Tamil Nadu’s Virudhunagar district on Friday, said police.
The injured have been admitted to a nearby government hospital in Virudhunagar, 520 km from here.
The blast brought down the sheds where the crackers were being made.
The police are investigating the case.
