Fly Found in Biscuit Leads to Inspection and Seizure of Stock in Hyderabad

After a customer reported seeing a fly baked into one of the biscuits, an Osmania Biscuits manufacturing store in Hyderabad was inspected and stock worth Rs 36,000 was seized.

When a customer named Vinay Vangala bought a packet of Osmania biscuits from a store in Miyapur, the incidence occurred. He noticed a fly in one of the biscuits after eating a few of them.

Concerned about the establishment’s cleanliness standards, he filed an official complaint with the local food inspector and the food safety commissioner.

In response to the complaint, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation’s (GHMC) Assistant Food Controller conducted an inspection and took quick action. Samples were taken, and the store’s entire inventory was seized.

This incident emphasizes the importance of food safety and the requirement for food production and manufacturing facilities to strictly comply to cleanliness standards. Such inspections and regulatory measures are critical to ensuring consumer safety and well-being.
