Hyderabad: Forest and Environment, Minister of Telangana, A Indrakaran Reddy today exhorted people for green expansion and to protect the environment.
At a program, he launched a song on green expansion to mark the Green Challenge taken up by MP Santhosh Kumar here with Padmasri Vanajeevi Ramaiah and others.
The minister called upon the people of the state to dream of green India and achieve green Telangana. The minister said that the chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has started a green drive which increased the forest cover to four percent.
The green challenge by the MP is good as it spreads across the nation the minister noted.
Good air and environment are key for human growth and better living and we are bound to protect our environment, he said. Everyone has to protect the environment by planting saplings and protect them, he said.
Our Haritha haram program has given positive results as also the Green challenge drive by the MP he said. Everyone is supposed to increase greenery and protect the environment which will, in turn, protect our lives, he suggested. If not, nature will curse us and the environment is polluted, health hazards will spread, he warned.
