Forest Range Officers’ training program held

Hyderabad: The 6th Batch of Forest Range Officers’ Induction Training Program was inaugurated at the TS Forest Academy today. P.K. Jha, IFS, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests was the chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Jha reiterated that FROs are the backbone of the Forest Department. On the one hand, they have to show leadership to guide and mentor their subordinates, on the other, they have to keep the senior officers informed about field realities and advice them. He also opined that only FROs’ training was being done on an All India Level compared to officers of same level in other departments. This exposure widens the horizon of FROs and helps them to grow beyond State boundaries.

Raghuveer, IFS, PCCF, who presided over the function, opined that the training at the TS Forest Academy was unique in the sense that seminar project was given to FROs to work on an issue of their State and present their opinion. This way they gain good understanding of the Department in their State, he added.

Sobha, IFS APCCF (FCA), urged the FROs with life sciences background to help those from Engineering background and vice versa so that mutual benefit occurs among them. K. Buchi Rami Reddy of ‘Vana Premi’ fame called upon the FRO trainees to observe H2O i.e., Honesty, Hard work and Obedience. R.M. Pandey from Uttarakhand urged the FRO trainees to maintain discipline.

Dr K. Tirupataiah, IFS, Director TSFA, has said the 6th batch FRO strength was 80 so far and it is the highest given to any forest training institute in India. B. Venkateshwar Rao, Course Director, gave brief description of age, education background and States of trainees. A. Nagamani also spoke.
