Hyderabad: Dr MCR HRD Institute of Telangana has conducted an Army Symposium for the 316 Trainee Civil Servants. Major General N Srinivas Rao, General Officer Commanding, Telangana & Andhra Sub Area, who was the chief guest at the event, stressed the need for formal national security strategy in view of the emerging external and internal threats.
Major General Srinivas Rao said an all-encompassing national security strategy should take into account all the inter-ministerial, inter-departmental and civil-military diversities. He said with a sense of pride that Indian Army was ready for any challenges from the provocative neighboring countries. “In Doklam, when 1,000 Chinese troops infiltrated into our area, within 48 hours, our 9,000 military forces rushed to the site with full-fledged preparations and compelled the Chinese President to order withdrawal of their troops from there”, he added.
Major General Rao gave away Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals to Shahid T Komath, IIS, Chitvan Singh Dhillon, IES and Ajay Ganpati Kumbhar, IPS, respectively in the Army Essay Competition 2018, conducted by the Army HQ for the trainee civil servants attending the 93rd Foundation Course.
Dr C Chandramouli, Union Secretary, DoPT, who was the guest of honour exhorted the trainee civil servants to be proactive in their approach, find out problems of the people and find lasting solutions for them. He called upon the trainee civil servants to uphold the value of justice in the distribution of resources. He observed that the job of a civil servant is highly stressful in its nature and advised trainee civil servants to maintain work-life balance. Later, he gave away medals and certificates to the Officer Trainee for best presentations and creative writings on Trek and Village Visit Presentations and also to those who successfully completed e-Learning modules, designed by DoPT.
B P Acharya, IAS, Special Chief Secretary, Planning and Director-General, Dr MCR HRD Institute, said the people keep the armed forces in high esteem considering their innumerable sacrifices in protecting borders of the country. He also said there was a pressing need to sensitize the trainee civil servants on issues relating to national security and so on.
Senior Army officers from Telangana and Andhra Sub Area, Faculty and Staff of the Institute also were present. Earlier, M P Sethy, Chief Consultant (Training & e- Learning) welcomed the gathering. (NSS)
