Formula E race to be held in Hyderabad on February 11

The date has been set, and preparations for India’s first Formula E race will begin soon in Hyderabad. In preparation for the event, the Telangana government will host the Hyderabad E-Mobility Week from February 6 to 11.

The E-Mobility Week in Hyderabad will be full of exciting events showcasing the global EV ecosystem. The city will host the Hyderabad EV Summit, the Rall-E Hyderabad, and the Hyderabad E-Motor Show as part of this, before concluding the week with the Hyderabad E-Prix on February 11.

On Friday, October 7 at Pragathi Bhavan, KT Rama Rao, Minister for IT, Industries, Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD), formally announced the Hyderabad e-Mobility Week by launching the website and unveiling the logo and flyer for the event.

KTR told the media, “This is going to be a monumental week for Hyderabad and India.  The Hyderabad E-Prix will be one of the largest global events ever held in the state, and taking advantage of this opportunity to host the global EV ecosystem in Hyderabad during Hyderabad e-Mobility Week is an excellent way to put Hyderabad on the global EV map.”

“We were one of the first states to implement an EV&ESS policy in 2020, and we have attracted investments from key EV companies like Fisker, Olectra, Hyundai, Biliti Electric, and ZF Group. Now, with the Hyderabad e-Prix and the e-Mobility Week, we’re bringing global EV leaders to Telangana,” he added.

Among the special events planned are:

The Hyderabad EV Summit will take place on February 6 at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC). The summit will feature global leaders, eminent academics, and policymakers debating the future of sustainable mobility.

On February 7, thousands of bikers will ride their electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers together in Hyderabad in a first-of-its-kind EV bike rally to raise awareness about sustainable mobility.

The Hyderabad E-Motor Show 2023 will be held at the Hitex Exhibition Centre on February 8 and 9, providing the public with an opportunity to learn about the global Electric Vehicle industry.

The Hyderabad E-Prix, the first-ever Formula E race in India, will take place over two days on February 10 and 11 at Necklace Road. Formula E is a single-seater electric racing series governed by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA). Hyderabad will join the prestigious list of E-Prix host cities that includes New York, London, Berlin, Seoul, Monaco, and Rome.
