Free rides for senior citizens offered by TSRTC on Ugadi

To commemorate the festival of Ugadi, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) will allow individuals over the age of 65 free travel on Saturday.

“For this Ugadi, TSRTC will offer free bus rides to senior citizens (65+) as a mark of appreciation for your unending loyalty,” said VC and MD, TSRTC, VC Sajjanar.

Additionally, he encouraged people to use the service and reach their destinations safely so they could celebrate the festival with their families.

Also, TSRTC recently began providing minibus services to Yadagirigutta. Devotees from JBS, Uppal, Bhuvanagiri, and Yadagirigutta will be served by these buses. In the future, more buses will be provided according to demand, and efforts are being made to establish connections to Yadagirigutta from Basara, Vemulawada, Kaleshwaram, Bhadrachalam, etc.

Ugadi celebrations

Astrological predictions state that the country would emerge from the darkness and witness new tidings during the Lunar Year Subhakritu, which is why K Chandrashekar Rao proposes doing a grand celebration of Ugadi.

Other than the customary Ugadi Panchanga Sravanam, the CM is likely to make some significant announcements on the festival day. Among them are extensions of Aasara pensions to all eligible beyond 57 years of age, job notifications, promotion of Telangana culture and literature, and sops for folk artists. As a result of the Covid epidemic, the celebrations have been low-key in the past two years.

During the meeting, KCR discussed the proposed announcements with top officials. It is likely that he will show how the state had progressed despite the havoc that Covid-19 wreaked. KCR will highlight the state’s impressive growth and how it is poised for further growth in the coming year, sources said.

Somesh Kumar, the Chief Secretary, on Tuesday reviewed preparations at Pragati Bhavan for Ugadi. State Cultural Department was given the responsibility to conduct the event.
