Fully Vaccinated Australians Free To Travel Abroad, Proof Mandatory

As per the latest update, Australians who are fully vaccinated can now travel overseas from November. The federal government on Tuesday made changes to the Human Biosecurity Determination.

Fully Vaccinated Individuals Need Not Ask Permission To Travel Abroad

The Human Biosecurity Determination was created back in March 2020 to retrict international travel amidst the pandemic and global lockdowns. However, as per the latest update ion Tuesday night, it has been removed. Australians who haev been vaccinated with both doses for Covid 19 vaccine need not ask permission to leave the country.

From November 1, completely vaccinated people are free to leave the country for the first time since March last year.

The Minister for Health and Aged Care, Greg Hunt, talking to the media said that this is the first stage in reopening the country to the world.

In Cranberra, on Wednesday, he said that Australian citizens and permanent residents will need to provide proof of vaccination with a Therapeutic Good Administration for the approved or recognized vaccines. The certificate should inform the authorities that the person has been vaccinated with both the doses. They must submit it at least seven days prior to travel.

However, for people who are yet to be vaccinated with either of the doses will still need to apply with the Department of Home Affairs before leaving the country and face strict quarantine protocols as they return.

Australia Continues To Battle Covid Third Wave

In the past 24 hours, Australia has reported over 1800 new cases of Covid 19, along with 16 deaths. The country continues to battle the third wave of Covid 19.

The new cases have raised the infection tally to 165,904 and death toll to 1696. The majority of cases were from Victoria which is the second most populated state in Australia with Melbourne.

As of now, around 74 percent of the Australians of the age 16 years or above are fully vaccinated against Covid 19.
