GHMC cleared 7,300 mt of garbage

Hyderabad: In view of Ganesh Immersion Procession from the last four days the GHMC has lifted around 7,300 metric tons of garbage waste. Usually the GHMC collect around 4,500 metric tons of garbage everyday as on Sunday yesterday around 2,060 metric tons of garbage has been lifted. From September 21., Moharrum till today morning additional 7,300 metric tons of garbage has been lifted and transported the same to 17 transfer stations.

The Ganesh Immersion processions which has been taken up to the extent of 370 kms where 8600 sanitation workers has been deployed to clear the garbage waste on priority. Main roads like Tankbund, Necklace Road, NTR Marg, Basheerbagh and other areas where thousands of people have participated in the processions even the accumulated garbage has also been cleared with the deployed staff. When compare to that of yester years the garbage waste use to clear for continuous 2 days but this time in a planned way the garbage has been lifted within the stipulated time for the convenience of the citizens.

The Entomology and Sanitation staff around 10,000 has taken lot of pains for clearing the garbage in this procession routes. The Commissioner, GHMC has appreciated and congratulated the staff and the officials for effective working for the Ganesh Immersion. There were no much grievances were received in myghmc app, Control room, dial 100 etc., this shows the effective working of the officials. The grievances received mainly of streetlights, manhole overflow, power failure etc., have received.

This year around 80,000 Ganesh Idols at 35 locations have been immersed in various areas of the GHMC limits, around 15,500 idols have been immersed in Tank Bund. With the help of the various Govt., Heads and proper coordination among the officials made the Ganesh Immersion process in a peaceful manner said the Commissioner and congratulated the staff right from field staff to senior officers. This time around 34,886 idols have been immersed in 23 mini ponds provided by the GHMC officials. (NSS)
