GHMC, State govt, USC sign MoU for international collaboration

Hyderabad: The GHMC, State government and the University of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles, have agreed to sign an MoU for International Collaboration of USC with GHMC.
Accordingly, on behalf of the GHMC, Mayor Dr Bonthu Rammohan, MAUD Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar, IAS, GHMC Commissioner Dr B. Janardhan Reddy, Serilingampally Zonal Commissioner Hari Chandana, IAS, and on behalf of USC James G Ellis, Dean, USC Marshall School of Business, Tyrone Callahan, Vice-Dean, Undergruduate Program have signed the MoU in the presence of MAUD Minister K Taraka Ramarao.

The GHMC and USC have agreed to explore the feasibility of academic cooperation leading to the initiation and development of joint programs which include Research collaborate with GHMC on social issues an issues of public services delivery (first proposed project-suggest ways to plug loopholes in tax collections and ways to enhance our tax revenues), Compile list of global best practices and share them with GHMC to implement them, Share IT technologies and suggest MIS interventions in our office practices, Share best environmental technologies and facilitate international technologies providers to work in GHMC area, Provide video training sessions to GHMC on best management practices, Short courses to management officers on social enterprise and management practices and GHMC staff and students exchange programmes have to be decided upon mutually.

The validity of this MoU is for five years from the effective date of agreement and may be extended on written mutual agreement. This is the first such collaborative agreement signed by a civic body in India and leading global university for intellectual dialogue and cooperation and building a long term sustainable relationship.
