Goa Government Bans ‘Daawat’ Basmati Rice Over Foul Batch

Goa government’s Food and Drugs Administration office has prohibited a few groups of basmati rice by the famous brand ‘Daawat’ due to identification of pesticide buildup in samples, an authority explanation said on Thursday.

Samples Yet To Be Tested 

The statement, given by the state government’s Department of Information and Publicity, has additionally encouraged public and food administrators not to devour or sell four clumps of the bundled basmati rice brand, in which the pesticide buildup has been followed.
“The last examination report of these samples has been gotten and the samples are accounted for as ‘doesn’t conform to the guidelines’ because of the identification of pesticide deposits in these samples. Hence, all general society and food business administrators are educated not to burn-through/sell the items with the recorded bunch numbers,” the statement said.
“The Directorate of Food and Drugs Administration has informed all the overall population, purchasers and Food Business Operators that the Directorate had drawn the samples of Basmati Rice Daawat Pulav Basmati Rice with Batch No. (A1) 60018038, Daawat Traditional Basmati Rice with Batch No. (A1) 60017014, Daawat Pulav Basmati Rice with Batch No. (A1) 60016202 and Heritage Basmati Rice with Batch No. (A1) 60016857,” the statement said, adding that samples for testing were drawn from the “open market” and investigated at told labs as determined under the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006.

Basmati Rice Shipments Fall
