The Telangana State Government took the decision to hike the prices of tickets in cinema theaters across the state.
The government has issued orders to hike ticket prices, levy GST and theater maintenance charges as well. With this, the theaters can hike ticket prices. Thus minimum ticket price is put at Rs 50 and the maximum Rs 300. Depending on the theaters the ticket prices will change accordingly besides GST and theater maintenance and online charges separately.
As per the orders, the theaters can now hike ticket prices with GST. AC theaters will have a minimum price of Rs 50 and a maximum of Rs 150 with GST. Also in Multiplex Theaters, the prices will be minimum Rs 100 and maximum Rs 250 plus GST. Single theaters with special recliner seats can charge Rs 200 plus GST and multiplex Rs 300 plus GST.
The Government also gave permission to charge Rs 5 in AC Theaters and Rs 3 in non AC theaters towards maintenance charges.
