Govt decides to hold polls for Local bodies from April 22 to May 14

Hyderabad: Telangana Government has decided to hold the polls for local bodies of ZPTCs and MPTCs across the state and announced its schedule. The process for the polls for ZPTCs and MPTCs will begin on April 22 and to end on May 14 and counting will be taken up after announcement of the results of Lok Sabha polls.

The elections for the local bodies came after the LS polls in the state. With the nod from EC and CEO officials the state government has decided to hold the local bodies polls from April 22 to May 14 in three phases. The state election commission expressed readiness and a nod from the EC that there will be no problem to conduct the same the state government has taken this decision on the polls for local bodies. The state poll body is to hold the polls for 5857 MPTCs and 535 ZPTCs on the basis of political parties and reservations already fixed by the state government.
