Gujarat Board Announces Class 12 Assessment Criteria; 50:25:25 Ratio

After the Supreme Court accepted the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) merit formula for Class 12, the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has also announced a plan for the students.

GSHSEB Brings 50:25:25 Criteria For Class 12 Students 

As per the latest reports, GSHSEB has introduced their own evaluation system that has been framed by a committee of 11 educationists. Following the committee’s recommendations, the GSHSEB will take into account the results of Class 10, Class 11 and Class 12 with the ratio of 50:25:25 respectively.

GSHSEB declared that the marks will be awarded out of 100 and the highest weightage of 50 marks will be given to Class 10 board results. Weightage of 25 marks will be given to internal unit tests of Class 11 and Class 12.

For students of science stream in Class 12, the results will be declared in the second week of July. For the other streams, the results will be declared in the third week of July. By the end of the month, certificates and mark sheets will be distributed.

Based on the evaluation criteria announced by GSHSEB, the schools will evaluate the students between July 19 and July 25. And the results will be uploaded on the board’s website by the end of the month.
Meanwhile, class 10th students were mass promoted amidst the second wave of pandemic. The assessment for them has been divided between the unit tests for Class 9 and Class 10.

CBSE Announces 30:30:40 Ratio for Class 12 Students 

The CBSE recently announced the assessment critieria for Class 12 students. As per their announcement, the ratio will be 30:30:40. Performance in Class 10 will have 30 percent weightage along with performance in Class 11. At the same time, 40 percent weightage will be given to Class 12 unit tests/pre-board/mid-term exams
