Haramain Sharifain on Tuesday publicly condemned the comments made by BJP MLA Raja Singh against Prophet Muhammad
Online news medium Haramain Sharifain on Tuesday condemned the Goshamahal MLA, a member of India’s ruling BJP, for making blasphemous remarks against Prophet Muhammad.
In an appeal to international organizations, Haramain called on them to counter elements that cause communal tensions and take measures to prevent the spread of Islamophobia and maintain religious harmony.
Raja Singh was arrested by the Hyderabad police on Tuesday morning for making derogatory remarks about Prophet Muhammad in a YouTube “video”.
There were protests against Raja Singh in the city after the video was released. A number of complaints were filed against the BJP MLA at various police stations, resulting in him being arrested after FIRs were registered.
Singh was also removed from the BJP for going against the party rules.
Hundreds of people took to the streets, particularly in the Old City, demanding his arrest.
Following his arrest, he was brought before a magistrate but was granted bail by the Nampally Court on technical grounds and police error.

AIMIM legislators and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation corporators also staged protests throughout the city.
In a statement made by Asaduddin Owaisi, the chief of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) accused the BJP of adopting a policy to “ensure that Muslims are tortured emotionally and mentally by allowing their party members to speak in such low language about Prophet Mohammed, which is what we called Sadak Chap language.”
In response to the controversial remarks directed at Prophet Mohammed, Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind chief Maulana Mahmood Madani and General Secretary of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani called for strict action against suspended Telangana BJP MLA T Raja Singh.
