Harish Rao criticizes Sitharaman’s PM flex board request

Nirmala Sitharaman is demanding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s flex boards at ration shops be displayed, according to Telangana Health Minister Harish Rao on Saturday.

It was his first time speaking in front of the public. He addressed a press conference at Tupran in the Medak district. Sitharaman’s request to put the flex boards of Prime Minister Modi at ration shops is considered “stooping low” by him.

“I don’t understand why the Union Minister keeps descending her level. By bringing the Prime Minister down by not having PM photos in ration shops, she is lowering his status. There has been a government in this country before. It has also been ruled by many governments before, but never before has anybody been on this level,” said Harish Rao.

According to Rao, Telangana is one of the top states when it comes to financial responsibility for the country.

It seems to me that she is saying the central government is the only one giving free rice to the state. About 50 to 55 percent of the funds are provided by the center, and the remaining 45 percent must be covered by the state alone, for which the Telangana government spends Rs 3,610 crore. There are five/six states that take care of the financial needs of our country, including Telangana. A total of Rs 1,70,000 crore has been spent on the country. Then why don’t you share the photograph of our Chief Minister KCR with other states? said, Harish Rao

Earlier in the day, the Union Finance Minister attended the Parliament Pravas program in Kamareddy, as part of her three-day visit to Telangana. In order to analyze the share of rations provided to beneficiaries by the state and the center, she visited ration shops.

When Sitharaman visited ration shops in the state, she lambasted the local collector and demanded that flex boards with the PM Modi logo be placed at every PDS ration shop.  In addition, she said PM Modi’s flex is either removed or torn down whenever it is tried to stay at ration shops.
