Harish Rao Skeptical of Congress and BJP Promises in Telangana Elections

Telangana’s Minister for Finance and Health Harish Rao, and a key leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), expressed skepticism about the promises made by the Congress and BJP in the run-up to the elections. He asserted that the people of Telangana had already made a “self-declaration” to elect K. Chandrasekhar Rao to a third consecutive term as Chief Minister.

Harish Rao accused both the Congress and the BJP for seeking to deceive the public with false promises while welcoming Y. Bhaskar and his supporters of the Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) into the BRS.

He called Union Home Minister Amit Shah and AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge “political tourists,” suggesting that they make pledges without having a thorough understanding of the local circumstances.

Harish Rao emphasized the BRS administration’s achievements in Telangana and advised that the parties criticizing their government look into the situation in the states they control. He cited sectarian violence, power outages, farmer suicides, and water scarcity in states ruled by the Congress and the BJP.

He also questioned the Congress party’s performance in Karnataka, alleging that it was unable to keep the promises it made after gaining power. Harish Rao stressed that, under the leadership of K. Chandrasekhar Rao, the BRS is a party that keeps its commitments to the people and is committed to working for the upliftment of Dalits in Telangana.
