Harish Rao starts Rs 2 cr CT Scan facility in Gandhi Hospital

Health and Finance Minister T Harish Rao today inaugurated CT (Computerized Tomography) Scan facility worth Rs 2 crore at the state-run Gandhi Hospital in the city here. The Minister said that Rs 19 crore worth of medical equipment of high-end quality will be set up in the Hospital to improve its services.

Harish Rao said that Telangana has no cases of Omicron now and the state is ready to tackle any situation in the future. Samples of two persons who came from abroad were sent for genome sequencing and results are yet to come, Harish Rao said. He appealed to the people to be cautious to tide over any virus spread and related problems by wearing masks, sanitizing the hands, and social distancing. He also asked the people to take corona vaccines without delay and avoid future problems.

The Minister appreciated the health staff and others in the hospital who offered their best services to the Covid patients during the Corona pandemic. Harish Rao said that in another six months Rs 19 crore worth of high-end medical equipment will be started. The Minister said that the tertiary care teaching hospital will get Rs 12.5 cr MRI Scanning and Rs 6.5 cr Cath lab facility helpful for checking heart-related problems. This facility he said will come up in another two months to augment services in the hospitals.  At present Rs 76 cr worth of development programs out of Rs 100 crore are in the hospital.

With this, the hospital which is a standalone facility for covid care patients will be strengthened to offer better services to the people. The people in the city and surrounding areas will get free, quality, and corporate care health services, he expressed confidence. The minister appreciating the effective coordination among the doctors and health staff said that the hospital will get multiple health care facilities in the future. The Mother and Child care Hospital (MCH) unit will be coming up in the Gandhi Hospital premises soon. We plan to construct another 200-bed capacity mother and child care facility to have a total of 500 beds for mothers and children, he said.

The Health Minister attributed the continuous development of the Gandhi Hospital to the continuous support by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. Due to the keen interest and vision of the chief minister the hospital is getting more and the latest medical equipment, he said. He asked the health officials, staff and doctors, and experts to offer even better services to the people coming from the city and surrounding districts too.
