HC Asks Govt to Fill Up TSPSC Chairman, Members Posts Within Four Weeks

The Telangana High Court today asked the state government to fill up the vacant posts of the Chairman and Members of the Commission within the next four weeks.

 

It passed these orders while dealing with a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by OU research scholar J. Sankar on the issue.

It wondered as to the commission would have a single member now and we wondered if the state government had plans to close down the commission.

Terming that the TSPSC is a very important constitutional body of the state, it asked the state government to either fill up the vacant posts or shut them down.

It asked the state government to submit its report before the HC after the appointment of the chairman and other members of the commission.

The advocate general of the state BS Prasad told the HC that they would take up the appointments very soon. The HC later adjourned the matter till June 17 of this year.
