HC lifts ban on Swami Paripoornananda

Hyderabad: Sri Peetam chief Paripoornananda Swamy got a relief with the High Court today passing interim orders lifting Hyderabad City expulsion imposed by the Telangana State government.

It may be mentioned here that the Rachakonda Commissionerate police declined permission Paripoornananda Swamy for taking up Padayatra from Uppal to Yadadri protesting remarks of a cine critic Kathi Mahesh against Lord Rama. The police made house arrest of Paripoornananda at the latter’s Jubilee Hills residence.

Later, after a couple of days, the Telangana government imposed Hyderabad city expulsion of Swamiji for six months. The Telangana State government was also imposed the same punishment on Kathi
Mahesh. The police said they imposed city expulsion punishment as Swamiji made provocative remarks in a meeting held last year. The police shifted Swamiji to Kakinada, his native place. The police also shifted Kathi Mahesh to his native place Chittoor.

However, Swamy approached the Court challenging the expulsion imposed by the Telangana government. After hearing the case, the High Court issued interim orders lifting city expulsion. (NSS)
