High Court Declines to Stay Govt Decision on Devarayamzal Lands

The Telangana High Court today declined to stay the operation of a GO issued by the state government constituting an IAS officers committee to look into the status of controversial Endowments lands from Devarayamzal.

It asked the petitioner in the case, Sada Keshava Reddy, as to what kind of problem he had with the inquiry of the IAS committee. It made it clear to the petitioner it was the responsibility of the committee to accomplish the mandate given to it and submit its report to the state government.

It asked the state government to issue notices to the owners of the lands before entering them. It asked the petitioners to submit the requisite reports and documents to the committee members.

It made it clear that the officials concerned can take action against the petitioners if they did not cooperate with them or comply with their orders. On the other hand, it asked the state government to file its counter in the issue.
