Human traffickers will be dealt with severely: Nayini

Hyderabad: Home Minister Nayini Narsimha Reddy today said the State government was acting tough against menace of human trafficking. He said those indulging in human trafficking will be punished severely if once the bill was passed in Parliament. He said the human trafficking was taking place in several forms and they were prostitution, child labor, begging and slavery. He said the State government was freeing child laborers working in glass industry and brick industry in the name of operation ‘Muskan’ and rehabilitating them.

The Home Minister participated in the rally organized by the City Police and Prajwala, an NGO jointly today with the slogan of “Eradicate Human Trafficking”. The students and youth participated in the rally in large numbers which started from the State Library, Afzalgunj to Charminar. The participants raised slogans ‘Will protect the children to Build new society’.
Speaking on the occasion, Nayini said the police were working hard for eradication of human trafficking. The police were registering cases under PD Act against human traffickers. City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar called upon the people to wage a crusade against human trafficking. He stressed the need to create awareness among the people on human trafficking. The society will develop only when human trafficking was completely banished from the society, he added.
