Huzurnagar developed during Congress regime, asserts Uttam

Hyderabad : TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy today dared TRS leaders to show a single development work done in Huzurnagar after the ruling party came to power in 2014. He also asserted that entire development in Huzurnagar Assembly constituency was done only during previous Congress regime.

Addressing a live program on social media platform Facebook on Monday, Uttam Kumar Reddy said the Congress would withdraw from contest if the TRS shows its contribution in development of Huzurnagar. He also said after getting elected as MLA for the first time from Huzurnagar in 2009, he resolved the problem of low voltage and improved the condition of roads. He said 12 Sub-Stations were set up as there were no sub-stations of 130 kv or 13/11 kv. He said the Metpally Bridge was constructed at a cost of Rs 50 crore to connect Telangana with Andhra Pradesh. However, he said even after six years, the TRS government did not sanction even Rs 6 lakh to construct an approach road to the bridge. Therefore, the bridge was not formally inaugurated, he added.

Uttam Kumar informed that construction of some 4,000 houses for weaker sections in Huzurnagar Town and Mandal near Fanigiri Ramaline was initiated at a cost of Rs 200 crore. He said nearly 80% of the houses were completed during Congress rule. However, the TRS Government could not complete the remaining 20% works in the last six years, he bemoaned.

He said as MLA of Huzurnagar, he got a Degree College in the constituency and a 100-bed hospital was set up in Huzurnagar. He also said the four-lane Nereducherla-Kodad-Khammam road was completed during Congress regime. He also said several schools, including Kastoorba School were set up during the previous Congress rule. Challenging the Chief Minister to show a single achievement done by him, Uttam said he was ready for an open debate on the issue of development of Huzurnagar.

The Nalgonda MP said the TRS leaders were trembling with fear of an inevitable defeat in the bye-election and went to CPI’s Makhdoom Bhavan seeking its help. He advised the CPI leaders not to trust the TRS leadership and support Congress candidate Padmavathi Reddy to protect democracy in Telangana. He also appealed to the TDP and the CPI(M) to withdraw from contest in favour of the Congress.

Earlier, Congress candidate Uttam Padmavathi Reddy filed nomination papers at Huzurnagar MRO Office. (NSS)
